There's no procedure anyone can tell you for adjusting a cobbled-up linkage. You'll just have to road-test it and lengthen/shorten the linkage to make it shift correctly. |

When the carb is at idle position, the linkage should not be moving the linkage. At least in my case, you don't want it to move the lever on the transmission rearward until you've fed it a bit of throttle. A tad of slack is preferrable. There should be a slot for the linkage to move in up at the carb bellcrank. You will have to play with it to get it right It should move the lever on the transmission back close to it's full deflection position at WOT. The more it moves it back, the higher your WOT shift point. Be conservative, and work your way up. No sense over-revving the engine to make WOT shift points! Running out of cam before the shift point hurts ET. Been there, done that! It can be a challenge, but with a bit of ingenuity, you'll get there!. CJ |
