I need to buy some new tires to put on new 15x7" Rallyes for a 1972 Duster. The original tires/rims were 14". What size tire gives the car room for turning and makes the lines of the car "balance out". I am running super stock springs and 255x60Rx15 on 15x8" Rallyes in the rear. Thanks, bwhitejr |

Its a choice between traction, handling and economy. Those big tires really drag you down. It also depends on the "look" you are going for. The drag strip look has small tires up front. The road race look has big ones. I have 205-60-15's on this car, and there is plenty of clearance. You should be able to go 225 with ease as well. The front wells on your car are a little smaller than mine, even though the rears are much bigger. You can try some things out with used tires before you settle on how to spend real money on fine tires. Sam |
