Lately I've had the throttle stick on my '87 Ram,and I finally tracked down what's causing it. The truck has a Holley 1945 from a '76 Aspen. The "fast idle cam" is attached to the carb with a e-clip,well the piece that it attaches to on the carb keeps sliding out a little bit,and the throttle linkage keeps catching on it. Is this even fixable? |

If it's the metal post working it's way out of the carb I would pull it all the way out. Clean the post and hole in the carb body with Brakekleen. Put some red Lock Tite on the end of the post and tap it into the carb. It should be there permanently from then on. |

Thanks for the suggestion,I'll do that tomorrow. After I discovered the problem, I looked at some of my parts carbs and they all seemed to be in there real good. Wonder how mine worked itself loose?
