Post subject:  Offset Camshaft Bushing Installation Question

Okay, I've done some searching on the website and have not found much info on how to install the MP offset camshaft bushings. I do know that I will need to drill out the locating pin hole to 3/8" on the upper cam timing gear. What I don't know is how the bushing will stay in place once I put it in the larger hole.

Will the washer underneath the cam gear mounting bolt be large enough around that the edge of the bushing will be held tight underneath it? Or, should I plan on soldering, welding, or lock-titeing the darn little bugger into place on the gear? Thanks for any help, I'm a newbie to the cam install/degreeing mods.

Just put it in, the washer will hold it.

Better double check the drill size. I seem to recall it being 13/32, allthough I could be wrong.

Cool, good to know. Just what I was hoping for. I will double check the size of the bushing before I put the gear in the drill press and start hacking away at it. Thanks so much.

I've used them and the washer will retain the cam bushing, but also make sure to add a back up to the whole system with Doc's Cam button so the cam doesn't move back and forth on you too...

Cheers,
