Hi,
I went to my local speed shop today, and they know I have been playing with the Valiant at the track. I just happened to mention Nitrous Oxide and one of the sales clerks says I should try it on the Valiant. It's a kit they are getting in from NX.." a 250HP shot capable wet system for $380.00, bottle solenoids and all parts needed for install"....
It has me thinking now....just for giggles and some quicker e.t.'s...on the drive home I kept thinking about the movie Cobra and his Merc and the nitrous scene...Doc have you used this system and do you advise or have any precautions before installing it on an otherwise stock slant? Thanks, nico

That sounds like a decent price, but do not even try a 250 shot. Stock motor will hold up to a 100 shot all day long, pretty well to a 150, and anything over that you're flirting with disaster.

You need to take timing out, switch to a couple steps colder plugs, use the best fuel you can, and maintain your fuel pressure rock steady at a minimum of 5.5 psi. Read the plugs after each shot to see where you are.

Zilla has you well covered.
My only other concern is how the N2O is introduced into the carb / manifold. Getting good (even) distribution is the key to a good running NOS system. Individual fogger nozzles are the best for this and "top shot" (above the carb) systems will simply follow the current manifold's distribution. Under carb. "plates" can be the hardest ones to get right on a SL6 because most are designed for V8s and will spray a bunch of juice on the backwall or directly into runners 1 & 6.

For low power "street / strip" set-ups, I tend to stick fogger nozzel right into the plenum area of the intake manifold and rotake them around for the best distribution. I have had good results doing that.
