Just read on Moparts that CC Events has pulled the plug on the RT66 race because of.............are you ready for this?..........................Expected low car count! The race isn't even until August and they already have their crystal ball out and know that car count will be low?

They just made sure that I never spend another dime with them.

I think it is more likely that CC Events is running out of $$$$$$. Too many events, and pissing off too many people at the ones they do get off the ground. The events had become completely geared toward the racers, but that alienated the car show and swap meet people. Good for racers, bad for people who pay in and don't get paid out.

I'm pretty sure that it is pricey to rent 66 for the weekend too. I'm guessing this was the deadline to get the cash in and they didn't have it.

The main reason I was looking forward to the RT66 race was that I am not eligible for vacation time yet. I would have to take at least 1 day off w/o pay to get to Knoxville. That isn't likely.
