Post subject: | Medford SL6 Race Results |
I will start a new thread for the Medford race results and photos, seeing that the "roll call" thread is already big... We had a 13 SL6 car turn-out in Medford... and a "little of everything" at this race. We got lots of racing, we had some rain, sun, wrecks (AA Altereds are wild to watch) oil-downs, BBQ, good friends, fun, lots of bench racing & car "thrashing"... you name it! In the end Glen Terry ( the ET "Robot") won. (again ) Not only does he win our SL6 points race but Glen comes back and wins the 1st place track money for the Flathead / Inliners class. I saw him hit his dial-in time, right on, a few times... he must be a robot in disguise. (or his car is a "transformer" that has befriended him) Allen and I got home at 1:00 in the morning so we are still shaking the 500+ mile return trip out of our heads. We left the 62 Lancer race car in Redding so that has us on the hook to run at Redding next weekend. That also means that the "Raquel" (Twin #2) engine is running fine. The fact is, the combo ran a 12.86 best time with the biggest problem being traction... the Medford track was not in good shape after being rained-on all last week. I saw lots of people taking photos so post them here, along with your stories about the race. DD |

I've got a video that is a tad over 100MB. It's of the crew working on Andrew's car. Has anybody got a place I can send it to? Photobucket won't take it. Perhaps Allan can take parts of it and build a video.. CJ |

Good to hear you guys had a good time! Wish I could've been there, oh well there's next year. It would be the same without the old man cause he has helped me a lot with my car. We did get the girl on the road, and man that four link is a biggggggggg difference. Congrats on the impressive time Doug, knew it would break into the 12's when I saw you in Vegas. |

I want to personally thank all of the Killer Bee Team members that "braved" the weather and showed up in force to make Medford a great success. BBQ, Bull *** hour/everyone helping each other get their respective cars running... Andrew was having motor problems as it was his "maiden voyage" with is wicked looking 62' Valiant. Doug, Rob, Richard, CJ and others all helped out with parts, expertise, labor to get his car down the track. Arics car had a valve train problem and many helped us get it back together after rethreading the problem rocker arm..thanks Guys. David has his "creeping" problem solved and CJ/Tristan ran what looks like a continuing "grudge match" with the winner taking home some "hootch"... we all got to sample some after the rains on Saturday... got 2 runs on Friday, four on Saturday and 6 on Sunday...Glenn continues to win but as he admitted later, he was lucky as several could have took him out but ran as little a .001 over. Jessica Howard ran for the first time, her own car as Andrew had his "skull and crossbone" express running on all 6/5 by the time we went to the finals. Jessica made it into the semi's taking out all comers along the way. If she hadn't ran .001 too fast, Mr. Glenn would have been on the trailer early. She is one up and coming racer and not intimadated by the "guys". Her sister Rhonda was there to support all and she has her own 66' in the works. Allen and David again helped with the brakcets and paperwork for Seymour..thanks..this all helps. Again, THANKS YOU GUYS for supporting your Killer Bee Team and showing up in force and we will see everyone in Redding this weekend! Later from Killer Bee Headquarters, Wayne/Aric/David |

I drew Randy in the first round and got by him... and I am planning to leave my car with him in Redding? My son Allen and I got matched-up in the second round, I edged him out. Another staging lane shot: Glen Terry's car (yellow) vs Jessica's Valiant... she was packing a voo-doo doll hoping that would keep Glen from winning, it did not work. Cars in the pits, ready to "buzz" The Kidd's new race car, before he "lettered" it A little shoe polish and we have a full-on racer! A couple of added pit shots: Oh... a lot of rear end gear changing, here is Wickedsix in action. |
