Looking at buying a '67 A 108 for $400 with a slant six with a thrown rod and wondering how you pull the motor out of one of those things since the motor is between the driver and pass seat. Does the body have to come off?

Not too familiar with the vans, but I don't see them come up too often, so I thought this sounded like a descent deal. The body is very straight and there is minimal rust. How does this price sound to you guys?

I did that job on an Econoline van once. I pulled the passenger side seat and took the engine out through the door.

I took my B300's engine out through the passenger's door. Had to take off the right front tire and put it on a jack stand to get the engine hoist in there.

Yup the boys are right on.Jack it up,cherry picker through the passanger door,or side doors if its a van.Pull the pins on the seats and unbolt the brackets. Also the engine "dog house"unbolts from the floor which is real handy.Hold the engine up with the picker and I'd personally drop the tranny, then out the door with the motor.Oh yeah, couple of frame stands under the axle or frame, just make sure they aren't going to interfer with the cherry picker. There are "hold er up tools" you can make but a good floor jack, frame stands, and the hoist will git er done.Good Luck 8)
