OK.... so I have some new details for you all. I talked to Kathy, the track manager, and the total cost for Racing at the track on Saturday and Sunday will be $35!! $25 for Saturday ( we can all run sportsman), and only $10 for Sunday. www.samoadragstrip.com Valerie would like to get as much info as she can on the drivers/ cars....you know get the whole thing logged into the computer so we make it easier on ourselves Saturday. You can email Valerie via Kathy's the track manager's mailto: dragstripprez@yahoo.com Also any questions............ The Hotel I got arrangments thru is the Scottsfield Excutive Suites. The racer rate is $84 plus tax, and that includes a breakfast...continental style, waffles and whatnot. The Hotel # is 707-443 -2206 and all you need to mention is you are with the Killer Bee race team.......and the rate is good for your whole stay....a couple days before and a couple days after the races is fine too. The regular price is $129.99, so I did get the best deal I could. As far as getting into the track on Friday, Valerie will get there early, and let people in....and after that, others can get the gate open as others arrive. Jessica and I will host a BBQ on Saturday after the races....at the track. If you want to bring something to add, chips, dips, drinks......just post here what you will bring, so we can get an idea of what all will be needed. For those of you who get here Friday night, lets go to the Samoa Cookhouse for some great food!!! If anyone wants to camp at our house instead of the track....let me know, we have some tent space!!! a old Fouton, and a couch too!! Lets make this a great race.........Jess and and I have a couple of other things cooken' too!! Andrew |

Hi Andrew: It looks like the Howards' are putting together one great new slant6 race for all of us... We will be there around 3:00 on Friday and yes, we are in for the Samoa cookhouse dinner. Do they still have the big long tables and platters, upon platters of food...eat-till-you-drop????? I heard from Seymour and he is a 100% go to be at Samoa...He already has a non-refundable roundtrip ticket to SF so he is a go for Samoa. Also heard that Rick Valent is coming all the way from Arizona to help support our team and get the car count up. With the Vegas race, Medford and last weeks Redding race, The Killer Bees have a 43 car count total...THANKS ALL OF YOU KILLER BEES.. This should "prod" the other three East of the Mississippi which are now all merged into one team to get off their **** and show up with good cars counts, for their remaining races. Thanks also to the Howards' for their generous donation to the race account and for sponsoring the Samao race to the tune of $600.00...Thanks you guys...BEE AT SAMOA... |

My oldest brother lives in Arcata, the town just North of Samoa and that whole area is really a great place to visit. If you ever wanted to visit the California Coastal Redwood forests, see the history of Eureka / Arcata and do some Slant Six drag racing... this is the event and the time to do it! Do you need a cool vacation plan? Get to Arcata a week early for the 4th of July, in the "Plaza"... their town square. That is a "one of a kind" experiance, best discribed as a mix of 1950's small town 4th of July (hot dogs, baseball games, ride on the old fire truck with Spot...) meets "stuck in the 60's" hippies, and "art and wine" plus farmers (growers) market... all "rolled" into one! (and smoked on the spot!) Talk about a place to "people watch! If my plans work-out, I will be up there on the 4th and we will take-in the town square, then my brother's late afternoon "block party"... you know, close the street, BBQ and enough fireworks to bring the cops by, fun stuff! (PM me if you want "in") Spend the following week doing some redwoods camping, a boat ride or fishing on Humbolt Bay, seeing the local sights, then do some SL6 drag racing on the following weekend... a travel agent could not come-up with a better trip! Here are a couple of links about the area: http://www.viamagazine.com/weekenders/arcata00.asp http://www.humboldtcounty.com/ DD |

Dave has an electrical problem with his car, he had it in the trailer over the winter and it got to his wiring. He is working on getting that straightend out. Hope he does as he is a really nice guy and fun to see his car (wagon) run. |
