I'd like to convert my hydralic valvetrain to solid lifter. Getting a second hand rocker shaft wouldn't be practical for me right now. Any reason I couldn't use the original hydralic rocker shaft w/ new adjustable arms?

Thanks

I have never done that but I bet that would work.
Measure you Hydro shaft's diameter and we can cross-check.
My other concern would be the positioning of the oil outlet holes.

BTW, I will sell a used mechanical rocker arm assembly for cheap. 8)

I measure 7/8" ID X 1 1/4" width for the rocker itself. I wonder if they could be the same shafts. Didn't Chrysler continue to produce the slant with solid lifters for industrial or marine purposes after hydralics were introduced?
Thanks for the offer Doc, I could be interested, but, today I've decided it would be easier if I pull out the block to work on it, so I'll be fussin' to get that done first over the next week or so. :o
Its only been a week and some people I know are already hinting "why don't you just get a newer vehicle" then I reply"why?...there's nothing wrong with this one"(while standing in front of a van which is stripped down to its socks and parts laying all over the carport)
