The original '63-'68 truck engine yellow was on the pale side. And it is yellow, not tan. Mopar Performance used to offer poor-quality paint approximating the original yellow. You could do a lot worse than John Deere yellow...what's your objection to that one? Which paint are you showing us sprayed in patches on the block? It looks pretty close to correct. |

Ahh - I forgot that part. The paint splotches are in the same order as the cans in the picture. J.D. yellow is in the center and Daytona Yellow is pretty close to the same color. It’s hard, or maybe impossible to get J.D. Yellow in high temperature paint so I would probably go with the Dupli-Color if I don’t find anything else. It’s really just weird that no one makes yellow spray paint. I didn’t realize it until I started looking for it. Danny |

A good brand of John Deere Yellow farm implement paint is plenty good enough for engine block and tinware usage. You needn't seek out one that says "High temperature" on the can. |
