i want more cubic inches and i am going .045 over and i don't want to stroke my 225 but i am going for the high compresion 2.2 liter pistons and 198 rods eny other ways to get cubes

I know of 3 ways to increase displacement...
- Larger cylinder bore
- More crankshaft stroke
- Get a different (larger displacement) engine to start with.
The "long rod" 225 does not increase displacement anymore then the .045 over bore provides.

EDIT: I agree with whatever Doc says...

A few cubes wont give alot more power so if this isnt a race engine I wouldn't bore more then needed to get fresh cylinder walls. However If you've decided to go big bore I think go could go .080-.100 over if your walls are thick enough.. There's a lot of info on this board if you use the search-engine.

Good luck,

You could go for 1mm oversize 2.2 pistons for 0.085" overbore. This is safe on almost any Slant block.

Best place to spend money and time is the cylinder head. Huge gains can be had here. I repeat - do no skimp on the headwork. Find a good head porter, or have Mike Jeffrey in Nebraska or one of the Drake's buddies in Charlotte do the porting. It is worth a lot.

well head wise i am going 4 oversized valves, i got a good local machinest and he has ben building engines for a very long time, and dosent the 2.2 liter pistions increace the comprestion ratio

I do that all the time with a 4 cylinder Neon; it's not all about bigger.
It's about power/weight and tuning/prep.

Besides, who cares what Camaro people think?

Spray it.

Leave the Camaro people alone. They are unteachable to start with.

whoa, my best bud had a beautiful 69 camaro with a easy 400 horsey small block. Granted he gives me plenty respect for the slant six and always wanting a challenge. However, both of us realise that for the money and time the 340 I have in the shop will be the next motor to spank any camaro that has any respectful motor in it. Even with a full boosted motor I will be reaching deep into my pockets.... might want to plan on just building a nice motor. I don't know what your expirence or bank account reached to, but trust me a big cube slant six isn't the answer.

i think that if you could match up a well built slant 6 with a lightweight car you could beat a camero but that takes money and time and i got a little bit of both (more time than money)

Unteachable like the mustang lot

Look at what Doc did with his dart a while ago.....

A big cube ala doc 260 would be nice but the cost for the gain wories me

I would rather spend the cash on the ignition head cam headers and induction - in that sequence
