Been a while gang. Actually had to go to Canton Ohio to pick this gem up myself last month..... Bad News: Seller copped an attitude and stole/sold the, Leaf Springs, Cross Flow Rad., Driveshaft and other sundry items shown in the pix he sent me of what all I bought.. Good news: Car is pretty straight and very solid. Frame is already tied together. Waiting on the $$'s for the ready to install roll cage I found made just for the Omni/Horizon 2 door hatchbacks. Head is in Windsor Ont. for special messaging and o/size valves. Suggestions on rear gear anybody? Plan on limiting this long rod 225 (.085 o/bore) to 6500 max. 4.10 ? 4.30 ? Thanks, Terry |

Bummer about the parts. How fast do you expect to go through the traps and how tall a tire will you be using? |

For example, 4.88 gears, 28" tall tire and 6400 RPM is 109 MPH with no slippage. 6k RPM is 102 MPH. 100 MPH should get you mid 13s. |

I seem to switch between 4.30 and 4.56 for my current 225 set-up. As the car goes faster, the 4.30 gear spends more time in the car. When "low block" (170+) engine combos go into the car, 4.88 & 5.13 are the ratios I run. I use the 5.38s for all 1/8 mile tracks. DD |

I plan on using a 26" tall tire to avoid too much body and rear wheel tub surgery. 6300 - 6600 rpms is my "Through the Last Lights" goal. Looks like a 4.11 might be in my future for this Slant.....?? I really can't afford 2 chunks. Additional info on the car is that a full metal firewall mod and trans tunnel was installed in the car but the Mopar Performance RWD Conversion K-Member LOOKS like it will carry the engine and trans too HIGH in the car.....? Pedals are a bit in a cramped spot too, but not too bad. This K member was (appears to be) installed in the car backwards to provide a Front Steer Location (spindles swapped Rt for Lt) for the factory Turismo rack and pinion. This creates another issue as the big factory Turismo sway bar, and a cross member of that K-Member, now resides right through where my rear sump truck oil pan would be. I found a site that has a, specifically made for the 2dr Turismo, 1 5/8" OD X .134" wall 10 point roll cage kit. Is this size (OD) legal for NHRA and AHRA? Sorry for all the questions but too many years making left turns every Saturday Night I've lost touch with a lot. Thanks. I really value your input. Terry |
