Would a holley 2bbl off of a 79 merc bobcat be the 350cfm staged 2bbl we are looking for as a step up from a bbd? |

No, the would be a Holley/Weber 5200 type. Having tried one on a mildly modified 225 I can say that it's too d@mn small. Two of them would probably work though. Almost forgot to mention I had to drill the idle jet to get my engine to idle. The stock idle circuit was lean on a 2.3L, it was hopeless on a 3.7L. |

0-80120... that's a Holley 350 cfm staged two barrel...pretty rare carb nowadays... The only drawbacks I've found to this carb so far are: 1) the 'staging' is mechanical ... so you bend the rod and find the best 'tip in' point 2) The bores are the same size as the Holley 500 cfm normal 2 barrel... so on a super six manifold it tend to be like a 1 barrel, you push on the acc. pedal and the vacc. reading takes a nice 'dip'... I think using it with an adaptor plate on an Offy manifold would be a better 'matchup', plenum and manifold-wise... -D.Idiot |
