Post subject:  Heat riser box

Hello,
While redoing the intake/exhaust studs, gaskets and so on, I have come to the conclusion that the heat riser box which installs beneath the manifolds, is not worthy of re-installation. ( That it didn't fall off is surprising )
Any thoughts on where one of these might be procured?
Thank-you

The heat riser valve is built into the exhaust manifold. Which part, exactly, are you referring to as a separate piece?

Hi
The piece I speak of is a metal shroud that bolts with two fasteners and then an aluminum hose attaches to this and provides heat up to the carb.
Its construction appears to be light sheetmetal

It helps on cold start ups, and is especially handy on very cold winter days. The aluminum hose hooks to it and is routed up to your snorkel inlet. I run mine religiously! :D

Ah, that's not part of the heat riser. It's the thermostatic air cleaner heat stove. They go by on eBay from time to time, though I don't see any at the moment. They're all the same from '70 (first year) through '87 (last year). Definitely worth having, as Ted says.

Doesn't that piece have a bracket on it which is used for the kickdown linkage?

The bracket is bolted to the manifold bolts, the heat stove bolts to it with a couple of shorty bolts...
