For all to see, this is how to put a /6 in a '53 Ford. It does require several trial positionings of motor to see how it's going to fit best, and what needs to be done next.
first the firewall needs a dent to clear starter,

and a small notch in the pan to clear the frame cross member. plus a motor mount,

also a motor mount for the other side

I used a Volare radiator (cut 1/16" off each side flange to fit the radiator support). Next was the Offenhauser 4 barrel with Carter carb,

Last but not least the construction of the equal length headers.

I also used the 904 transmission that is positioned to set on the original Ford crossmember with fabricated linkage to the Ford collum shift. the end result with a few other fairly simple things added give these results.

Nicely done Fopar! And what a surprize when ya pop the hood! What power plant was in the Ford originally?

it had a V-8 flathead but the block had a real bad score in one of the cylinders, and those flatheads were notorious for overheating.
The automatic transmissions were 3 speed, cast iron cases with air cooling.
