Next time you pass a newsstand be sure to check-out the world record holding Slant Six powered coffee table on page 60.

The word has it that Santa and his reindeer have taken it for a test drive and like it!

Post subject:  Exhaust Manifolds?

The valve cover is an Offy it think. What are the dual exhaust manifolds? Is that the Hyper Pack setup? Looks cool. BTW did any of you guys see the 225 Slant Six working plastic model kit on E-Bay? I hope one of our guys got it. I'd have bid if it wasn't already up to $100

Yes, those are the factory Hyper-Pak cast iron manifolds, also note the Hilborn injector pump mounting on the front of the timing chain cover.

Pretty cool is right, seeing 150+ MPH out of a 170 SL6 ! (That is *not* a tall block slant)

Doug,

According to the articles I've read, Wilford Day ran both 225's and 170's at Bonneville, and the fastest ones were 225's. I think his G-production (170 motor) ran a best of 142 or so. This is my recollection - haven't looked these up again yet.

One of these years, I've got to get up to Bonneville myself!

Cheers,

Lou
