I'm building the slant for my truck and am painting it green and yellow, and so naturally, a bright red coil would look out of place. Is there any hurt in painting the coil? It's an MSD Blaster 2. Also, can I paint my distributor (EI) and the cap as well?

Thanks

Yes what? Yes as in, "cool! a John Deere schemed /6" (which if that is the case, I have a few pictures posted in the gallery section...), or yes there is hurt in painting the coil, or yes I can paint the coil with no worries?

You can paint the metal canister of the coil, but not the top as you could create a leakage path. Same for the distributor. Paint the distributor body, but do not paint the cap.

Yes, I wouldn't put it on too thick. But put a light coat of a lacquer base type paint would be fine on the cap, just as long as you can slid the boots on ok. I think the coils are powder coated. My Blaster 2 is the chrome version.

Im with Josh on this one. But if you want to paint the tops then put an old set of wires on before you paint. This will keep it so the boots seat good.
