Post subject:  will 73-75 fury wagon disc brakes work on my 73 dart swinger

i have a set of fury wagon disc brakes off a 73-75 era and was wondering if theyd work on my 73 dart swinger. can someone help

Not if it's a C-body. B-body stuff will bolt on, but C-bodies are different. The later '75 and newer small Fury is a B-body, but the older ones are C-bodies. The C-body year break is '73 if memory serves so if you have the 1973 only disc brakes you can sell them for decent money to a C-body fan that want to upgrade.

I used c-body rotors and caliper brackets on my a-body disc brake spindles it works great. This way you can utilize the larger rotors of the big cars. I believe you could have either slider type calipers or the style that slide on pins like in early E-bodies which is what I chose. Mopar Action did a story on this with pictures of the parts for identification. Check out their website it is in the tech archives.

The only way to use C body rotors on A body spindles is if you had a set of custom wheel bearings made.

Andy is right. The car your parts came from was not a C-body. Plenty of B-bodies were given names formerly used on C-bodies.

I have thought about having a custom wheel bearing made for this application since it would allow a C to A swap. It is a simple change to the bearing, basically it just needs a slightly different OD. With the conversion bearing a person would be able to slide the 11.75 x 1.250 C body rotor onto any A,B or E body knuckle.

The main reason I'd do that is that then my Viper kit would be a better bolt on kit and the pad spacers could be elminated. The Viper caliper is designed for a 1.250 rotor rather than the 1.00 thick rotor that came on the big B body cars.

A body B, C, what body is the '72 Charger? And will any parts off of one fit a '74 Dart? I have one that is beyond repair and my Dart is willing to accept any upgraded part swap.

Chargers are B-bodies. Those spindles and rotors are different than the '73 and later ones. Probably best to sell those to someone that wants older B-body disc brakes and find the correct stuff for the Dart.

'72 Charger stuff will bolt onto an A body (need big ubj) but the rotors are expensive if you can even find them. Most people use the '73 or newer stuff because it is dirt cheap.
