well i fired up the truck this morning to do some runs to the dump . i got it all loaded up and it turned over once then nothing. i tryed a jump but nothing also. i also replaced the ballast resistor cause i carry an extra. but still nothing. it ran fine this morning! now its stuck in my customers driveway. here is whats up: totally nothing when u turn the key over no headlights, or any electrical stuff working flashers work i'm thinking an ingintion switch but i don't know that much. i had no tools with me so i was kinda screwed luckly its 25 blocks from my house. so i walked home. what do you guys think it is? i will be towing it home with the dart using rope or chain if i can find a chain. what is the best place to hook it to the back of my 73 dart? any advice or help would be great cause i'm up poop creek. |

If the headlights aren't working it's probably not the ignition switch. Check the battery and cables carefully. |

update: took the battery to the parts store - it works fine. replaced both battery leads & had the parts guys clean up the batt terminals. replaced the starter relay - nothing. i am guessing a fuseable link somewhere. i have 30 ft of tow rope when my wife gets off work we are towing it home very slowly. no truck means no work - i'm screwed! |

It might also be a combination of a couple of items, one just happened to fail along with the other one... Have you tryed, blocking the tires, putting it in neutral, turning the key on, and cross connecting the 'start' terminals on the relay or starter with a screwdriver to see if it even rolls over? Have you checked the fuse box to see if any have gone 'puff'? Good luck on the tow... -D.Idiot |

well we busted the tow ropes, right in the middle of a 5 way intersection. i had to run into fast moving traffic and push a 4100LB truck it took every ounce of strengh i had to do it (it was up a slight grade in the road) and a ton of adreneline to get it across. with cars shooting all around us and backing up sandy blvd. after i got it across the bvld i puked. my wife finally called a tow truck below are the pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i should of never gotten out of bed this morning, the truck ran so well today also, i have no idea what went wrong. after the tow and the loss of other work i had planned today i'm hurt'n and i have a very angry wife. anyone wanna help me fix it? i'll feed ya well and buy good beers. |

Well, this is certainly a new variant on the old "Honey, we're lost, now will you please stop and ask for directions!" «We are not lost, dear. I know exactly where we are, and we're not stopping for directions.» Glad to hear you and the truck made it back alive, more or less. Sorry I'm not closer or I'd come over and help! |

The ALT Gauge was bad, Josh figured it out in like 2 mins and had the dash apart and the truck running in 10 mins. after he left i took out the sloppy hippie wiring (radio and cb) then i walked over to the hardware store and got all new dash screws and some sheet metal to cover the radio hole. found a taker for the radio! so now the dash looks like this: ![]() ![]() much better, the truck runs! thx josh! and the wiring is now cleaned up and i don't have to look @ a crappy radio anymore. now to smooth things over with my wife. its awesome to have so many wonderfull slant six friends! |

Yeah, now we just need to hook you up with a volt meter on the left hand side above that little red light to keep tabs on the charging system. |
