For his Duster, Aaron bought some leaf springs that are supposed to be Super Stock. I'm having a hard time locating replacement bushings with similar dimensions to the ones in these springs when I use the term "Super Stock".

Tell me if these are what is truly considered "Super Stock":

Springs are 2-1/2" wide and have three long leaves and one very short leaf at the locating dowel where the axle mounts.
Front eyes -
1-1/2" inside diameter
1/2" diameter bolt
Rear eyes -
1" inside diameter
3/8" diameter bolt

I was under the impression that Super Stock springs have four leaves on the driver side and five on the passenger side, causing it to be raised slightly higher. These springs look no different than the stock springs on Aaron's Dart Sport.

Tell me what you think,
Jerry

Those look a lot like the Mopar Performance oval track springs I have under my '72 Dart. Only 4 leaves, but all are thicker than production leaves.

The main leaf on my stock '67 Valiant springs are about .245". The oval track main leaf is about .350".

They do not look like superstock springs. if they are for a Duster the last digits of the part # should be 2001 and 2002. They should be stamped on there. There should be 1 more leaf spring on one side and the bottom leaves on both springs are offset differently. Hope this helps.

I haven't noticed any numbers, but they do have plenty of surface rust, as you can easily see. I'll clean them up a bit and take a closer look.

What is the possibility that they are from an earlier spring design in the 60s that changed over time? Just wondering....

Not that it really matters that much, but I would just like to know what we have. They are obviously different than the stock springs we are familiar with, but they were sold to Aaron as "super stock". After all, when it's all said and done, it all about ride quality and handling.

Regardless, I talked to Dick at Firm Feel, and he assures me that he has the correct size bushings.
