Will this size be Ok for a 64 Dart?

I've seen 225/60/15s and that's the look I want, These would be an interim plan until I can buy new tires.

Those are 3/4" taller than the 235/60R15s I had under my '66 Dart. To run this large a tire the wheel backspacing is critical. I had an 8 1/4 axle, and 15x7" 4 1/4" backspacing cop car wheels. Much less backspacing and they will rub in the outside under cornering, any more and they rub on the inside when one wheel is pushed up and the other droops and when entering a driveway at an angle. My car rubbed lightly on the inside anyway, but only when entering driveways at an angle.

Which ones are taller Josh?

There's a guy selling a used set of the 215/70 for 135 with 3/4 of the tread left. It's just going to be a bandaid set.

215/70R15 is 26.85" tall. 235/60R15 is 26.1" tall so the tires you propose are .75" taller than what I used on my '66 Dart. The fronts pictured are 205/50R15. I later reworked the sway bar mounts.

THere's no way those will fit on the front of a '64 without trimming the front of the wheel arch where it wraps under the car. On my '64 Dart with cop car wheels the most I could get was 205/60/15s under there because of clearance at that point.

True. I blindly assumed he was just trying to fit these tires on the rear of the car. No way will they fit the front.

Thanks Rob. The guy that sold me my Cop Car wheels said he got 225/60/15s under his car. This was just a short term solution anyway.

Thanks again
