I have a 500 holley 2 bbl and want to set it up to run decent on my stock 225. Looks similar in design to the holley 350. I took the bowl off of the front today and noticed the jets are way to big for what I want to do with it so I figured Id just swap the car out to a 2bbl instead of swapping junk after junk parts store carbs on there. Those things are a nightmare,DAMHIK....And with the limited suplly of carbs left today we are left with spending big bucks for a new replacement which is really hard to swing the money for. So anyways Im looking for another alternative. A holley I already have here seems like a good idea. The jets are 73's btw. Im just trying to get better mpg and decent power.... |

Michael, Sorry to hear about your job, and hope we see you at NW. I will pay for your entry fee for the day if you come and race a Slant car. IMHO, the Holley 500 2bbl is about the best "bolt on" carb for a performance (but not extreme) 225. You can get great mileage and performance with minimal work. I would start with 68 jets. 73s will actually work pretty well, but 67-70 is best from my experiments. Best, Lou |
