Hello
I just bought a Racer Brown Cam so don't need that, but what are you asking for the intake? Is it a Mopar Performance part? Is it used?

Hey Stan, what happen to the factory Hyper-Pak you were running?

I heard you ran at Richmond, did you have any luck in the rounds?

Any chance you can get to some additional SL6 races in 2002?

Anyway, hope all is well with you any your family, best wishes for the Holidays.

Doug
Thanks for the best wishes, the same to you and you family!
Still running the Dinosaur!, Ran 97 MPH at 14.2 with the street tires and through THE muffler.
It was running out of ump at the top of third and high. I'm not sure if it's fuel timing or what.
It was about 6000 rpm in third.
I would like to go to the NC race this spring but we will see. I was the only car flat towed into Dinwiddie that I saw! Thinking about going with a 2.47 trans to allow a little more time in 1st. With the 3.09 and 4.88 it hits the tires too hard and it seems like I am shifting to second right out of the box. Thanks again for message. Stan

That right, you are running a 4-speed, did you see that message a ways down about clutch set-ups for racing SL6 ?
What clutch are you using? Any issues with it so far?

I'm using a McLoad(sp) flywheel that Dennis did for me. It's a steel billet 340 wheel, 10.5, with the slant flange drilled. It's 32 lbs. I use a Zoom (this stuff should be in a museum) driving disk and a green cover Direct Connection ( more museum pieces) hemi pressure plate. You need a huge left leg to push in the clutch, and I smell the disk if you slip it, but it HOOKS. I have all that in the 340 Lakewood housing. I was having a ton of trouble with the 10.25 stuff on the 9.5 Clifford flywheel so I just went up with all the componets. I had to go with a Tilton starter because I lost the nose support but that has been trouble free also. I am looking for 13's before I quit with this comb. It went 13.4 with the 33x12 Goodyears and open headers before. I have added a little weight with the stuff to make it street legal. But the best mph was 99.9 so I am darn close with the 97's. That Racer Brown cam makes a TON of power. I think I can do it with a locked electronic dist and a 2 or 3 stage retard box. The carb is not right and the hood is coming up in the front corners where I need some more dusz fastners. I'll go read the clutch posts now.

Stan,
Any details on how you mounted the 340 bell to the slant 6 would be appreciated. Did you retain the low starter location of the 340? Any header interference problems? I'm working on a 72 Swinger with my son.

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Rick I have a 65 Valiant with a /6 and manual tranny. I used a 340 RAM AUTOMTIVE flywheel
that I drilled for the slant crankshaft pattern. The bellhousing is a Lakewood scatter shield. We used a chunck of aluminum 3/8 thick for the spacer. The plate bolted to the block of the slant with one bolt pattern and than another bolt pattern was for the 340 bellhousing. We used a new light weight style starter. I used the stock location of the 340 starter which is low on the slant block.

Dave Thanks for the reply. Did you make the adapter yourself or did you have someone else make it? Any idea if I could have one made and the cost? Were you able to retain headers with the low starter location?

Clifford makes "street rod" headers for the low starter location. I don't think the others would fit. I have dual Dutra Duals on my '68 Dart with low starter (A500 OD trans swap with V8 adapter plate).
