I was double checking my timing chain and I noticed after I pulled the chain I turned the cam sprocket till it was in line with the crank sprocket witch was at tdc the rocker arms were not fully closed. when I turn the cam sprocket 180 deg. the rockers are fully closed and the next valve to open is the exhaust valve, It seems to me like that should mean that #1 cam is at tdc when the marks show that its really 180 deg. off. In other words both the cam mark and the crank mark are both at around 10:30, not the cam at 4:30 and the crank at 10:30, witch they should be at (at least I think they should). Does this make any seance? I will try to explain another way, with my marks lined up correctly, witch they were #1 piston at tdc and the cam mark and the crank mark lined up the valves on #1 are not fully closed, but the valves on #6 are. Now I pull the chain and just turn the cam so its 180 deg. off the valves are closed on #1 but my cam mark is now 180 deg. off.

You are correct. When you line up the marks on the timing set the cam is in the #6 TDC firing position rather than #1 TDC firing. You can either put the timing set in the conventional way and set the distributor to #6 or turn the cam sprocket 180° and point the distributor to #1.
