| Post subject: | Power steering swap for 63 Dart |
I found a ?65? Valiant in a local scrap yard. It had AC and power steering. I nabbed the compressor, steering pump, brackets, and pulleys (well, almost all, I need to go back and get one more). My questions are: How hard it is to remove the power steering box? The shop manual leads me to believe it is not hard, just three bolts. Does the exhaust pipe need to be removed? Is the pitman arm the same from manual to power steering? Will it fit the Dart? The bodies look identical except for outer sheetmetal, so I am guessing yes. Hopefully I can get there and get the parts before it is crushed and on the boat to China. It does have some other usable parts, like a really good rear bumber. Anyone interested? |

Should fit Dart. I believe the steering columns are different lengths too between pwr and man, but Val and Dart are interchangeable. I would grab the column out of that car too. Pitman should be the same, but not sure. Not sure about the rest. Lou |
