I bought a set of domed positions from vanlie, I f**K their name up all the time, and when I was gapping them I dropped one of the secondary iron rings and broke it. The question that I have is, should I order a nother set of iron ring of should I get a chromeally set like the primary rings. One other thing, since I have to replace the ones that I have is there a better ring out there?

Most ring sets, unless you spend big money for something special, are cast iron on both compression rings. The top may be chromed or have a moly inlay, but the rest of the ring is iron. Unless you're going to be supercharging, using nitrous, or some fuel other than gasoline then iron rings are fine. Moly holds oil and reduces ring and cylinder wear. You should be able to get a single cylinder ring set to replace the one broken ring.

this thread is just as good an argument as any for rebuilding the engine in the livingroom, where theres carpeting on the floor and the fridge is nice and close. just make sure the couch has a fold-out.
