How much is the v8 engine really worth? Well, of course it depends on what engine it is. But what I’m asking is: Sometimes I see this advertises with a rusted out Duster with a 318 engine for hilarious prices.

Then you see a really nice Duster with a slant for a lot less money. Just because it’s a v8 the price is almost always a lot higher. What can you expect to get paid for a really nice original slant six car..? Just throwing it out there for discussion. Ohh, and I live in Sweden so my thoughts are based on the stuff I see here.

One reason that the 318 cars bring more money than the sixes are cost to convert. If one whats to drop in a 340 or 360 its a straight forward deal. The K-member, trans, distributor, trans-line routing are just a few exemples of things that would need to be changed or worked out to convert from the slant6.

Yep, and the sad part is that most of the time a slant six car is actually worth more with the engine pulled out of it to "most" people because they dont have fool with pulling out something they are gonna throw away anyways... :(
