Post subject:  All the Spanish /6 Dodges

Hello guys!

Recently we have tried to gather a photographic archive of all the /6 Dodges built in Spain from 1965 to 1977 captured in a photo (surviving or not). You can read a resumed story of the Spanish Dodges here:

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... 065#161065

This photographic archive include photos of the 65 Dart model assembled in Spain, 66 Dart assembled and partly manufactured in Spain, 69 Dart (an exclusive update of '66 Dart -the square headlights one) Dodge 3700, Dodge 3700 GT, and SW versions of all models, adaptations to Police car, Ambulance, Hearse coach, official government car (most times black), limousines, pickups, convertibles, advertising brochures, even one appearing in "Batman", the first movie... They were the only real big cars manufactured in Spain since 1939, so it was very useful for special purposes like the above mentioned. There was even a sports car using the chassis of Dodge 3700 GT and, of course an upgraded /6: The Dodge Serra Boulevard. You can see it at the end.

Hope you enjoy it!

:) Yes, when Chrysler España decided to change the old Dart model they chose the name 3700 (for a short series of a 3 manual gearbox version) and 3700 GT for the new model. 3700 for the 3687cc=225c.i. engine and GT for the sporty air they wanted to associate to the other version: A 4 manual / 3 automatic gearbox version with bucket seats instead of the bench seat of the 3700.

In addition, the 3700/3700 GT had an equivalent supersix equipment (165 HP SAE, Kelsey-Hayes front discs to enhance the sporty flavour. On the contrary, suspension, weight balance and steering where not sporty at all.

The car did very comfortably 88 - 100 mph on highway but driving at speed in curved roads was not comfortable but dangerous.
