Sure could use your help again. I got the dual exhst installed on the charger. Went to pick it up and we couldn't get it started. No fuel was getting to the fuel filter. So i replaced the fuel pump. Took a lot of cranking but I got it started. Set the timing and adjusted the idle. All sounded well until you get out on the road and try to accelerate. Terrible bogg My troubleshooting guess was two things. since its a new fuel pump, the lobe at the cam is worn out. Or gas tank is clogged. Tried to narrow it down by rigging an alternate tank. Ran a line from the new fuel pump to an exterior gas tank Fuel delivery still looks to be insufficient judging by the small amount of fuel in the filter. All I can think from here is a clogged tank. Before i have to drop a tank, is there something you can recommend to try next please? Keni 71 dodge charger |

It called a fuel pump test. Disconnect the line at the carb and place in a empty gas can, start the car and run for about a minute, or untill carb is sucked dry. You should have about a 1/2 gallon of gas in the can. You can have a helper or you watch as the gas flows into the can, if it flows like someone had slashed a artery [hard pulsing squirts] your golden. |
