I pulled the slant six out of a 1979 van and replacing it with a rebuilt slant out of a 1963 valiant. my van has a 4 speed stick and the valiant had a auto trans. I was just swapping the clutch and fly wheel and noticed that the flange on the two motors are different. The bolt patterns are the same but the center hole size is different, I can bolt the flywheel on but the center hole is smaller on the crank. should I bolt it on or do I need to buy more parts? also will I be able to put a pilot bearing in this new flange?

You need an adapter. Someone else on here will have to tell you where to get it. You may find it in a search of this site.

You need a pre-68 flywheel... or find someone who can make an annular sleeve (I don't think anyone's tackled this yet, since flywheels used to be fairly easy to get...)

Howdy,

I have the flywheel for a small hub crank you need. It is a spare from a truck project. Sell cheap plus shipping, PM me if interested.
