What have you found to be the best option for shipping large and/or heavy objects. I've had a few requests for items off the Duster I am parting out. Things such as the hood, window glass, k-frame, springs, etc. are not very suitable for boxing up and dropping off at the post office. I would like to hear from some of you with first-hand experience, either as a seller or buyer. Thanks, Jerry |

greyhound. You'll have to take the parts to the depot and the reciver will need to go to their nearest depot and pick up. No p/u at your driveway or delivery directly to the other guy's. BUT they are reasonably priced and take stuff that UPS, Fed Up, etc, won't. The nearest depot is only about 4 miles from here. I sent a 65 Cuda door from IL to TX; wrapped it in cardboard and shrink wrap; its been a couple years but IIRC,cost ~$70 (about $1/lb) and only took a couple days. "Mopar_no car" from this site, was the reciever of this door; maybe he'll chime in. I hear of lots of hoods, bumpers, etc being shipped this way. I wish I could find a complete, rust free Duster body; I don't think they'd bring that though. Also; how close are you to the nearest truck stop? Maybe you could find someone with a lil extra room headed the direction you need something shipped. I was gonna buy an NOS quarter panel a while back and the seller had a neighbor that was coming my way but he'd already left; missed him by a couple hours, so I didnt buy. |

I 2nd greyhound. I have sent 2 deck lids & numerous fenders this way-- no problems-- take flat cardboard, wrap the item-- tape the corners/sharp spots --ship it. Size surcharges at UPS/Fedx-- make that option cost prohibitive. Greyhounds web site is fairly close to the price you will pay --but not accurate-- depends on the mood of the counter person when you bring it in. Lawrence |

Jerry I managed to "sweet talk" the lady at the terminal in Forrest City, AR ( our local terminal) and scored a big 40% off coupon for shipping. If you ship all the stuff at once they all are 40% off. Just ask the clerk if they will give you one> ![]() ![]() ![]() Frank |
