Post subject:  Beware of Hughes Engines!!

Bought a custom cam including lifters and springs from Hughes Engines only to find the cam was defective after installation. Sent back to Hughes (who admitted fault) and they finally corrected it after much discussion and returned it by snail mail. Since the engine had to be taken back out, disassembled, then reassembled and reinstalled in the car I asked them for expenses for shipping and for required gaskets and fluids, and they responded by saying "That is my Problem". The long delay and labor and expense incurred due to their defective cam was of NO CONCERN TO THEM! So much for the Mopar Experts or Mopar A-Holes!

I think it was missing the oil hole for the oil to the rockers.

Correct! Was missing oil hole and hole to relieve pressure to rear plug wasn't drilled all the way through.

I know that sucks but I'm sure none of the other cam manufacturers (or any part manufacturer) would reimburse you for gaskets and fluids either, shipping maybe but nothing else. There is most likely a clause in their warranty that says they don't have to. Like software disclaimers, if it screws up your computer, business and life . . . oh well. I have a friend who is having fits with GM and a crate motor right now and will find out the same sad fact.
