I just got a 66 A100 van. it has dearched springs in front and flip kit in the rear. this thing is low. I'd like to turn it into a daily driver. there are a couple things I'd like to do.
#1 convert to power steering. I heard this became an option in 68. does it bolt in?
#2 disc brakes or power disc brakes. I saw some setups that required special machining of the rotors. is there a way to do that is 100% bolt on?

I love vans, and once looked hard at getting an A-100.

Power steering is a VERY rare option, I think 1970 only, but it is problem prone.

As far as disc brakes go, there are people making the parts to bolt disc brake spindles to the factory straight axle at the kingpins. However, when I was thinkning about it, I decided that the way I would want to go would be to get the entire front suspension out of a Volare/Aspen/Dipomat/Gran Fury/Lebaron/Fifth Ave. You would get disc brakes, power steering, independent front suspension AND a front sway bar all in one go, plus you could keep the stock rims. This would require some fabrication, especially with regards to the steering, but is doable.

I would suggest you ask these question over on www.sweptline.org or www.vannin.com you might get better answers there.
Good luck with your project!
