Your biggest problem will be finding an air cleaner that clears the doghouse. Other than that, this swap should be the same as a car. However, you may have trouble with the length of the kickdown if you have the transmission adapter to mate the v-8 727 to the slant six.

I'm considering doing the same with my 67 panel, from what I've read on the Yahoo A100 group site posts, you'd want the 2-barrel intake and "all" the linkage. After that, I'm still not clear on how the throttle rod connects to the bellcrank....might be an improvised custom setup. I recall there are many ways of doing it. Most likely an aftermarket air cleaner of some sort is in order also. Your best bet for specifics would be the yahoo A100 group, besides here.

It's been a few years since I've done mine. If you don't have all the componets, get them first! I was going to use the Carter 2bbl but couldn't figure out how to do the throttle & kickdown linkage, so after tons of time in the junkyard looking and grabbing stuff to try and make it work. I punched the idea of using the Carter. NOTE: the 1bbl's throttle works online with the vehicle vs the Carters throttle which is perpendicular to the vehicle. This makes it very hard to get it to work with the A100. SO, I coughed up some bucks and went with a Weber 32/36DGEV conversion kit. http://www.piercemanifolds.com/Images/Catalog/K616.htm and http://www.piercemanifolds.com/carbdeta ... 6_DGEV.htm This made life alot more simple for hooking things up. The only mod I had to make was going with a cable for the throttle. Which came from here. http://www.gokartsupply.com/thcable.htm I believe it's the 60 inch that you will need, measure first! You will also need to buy the clamps. This all was pretty much a bolt and go swap. The Weber carb is a excellent choice/upgrade from the Carter carb, is more reliable, ecomonical than the Carter once dailed in. YES, you will need to buy some jets with this to really get it dailed in. Once that's done, you will be real happy that you did it. Im not telling you to do this, but if you play around with the other setup, I think you will find that this is a easier way to go. The van linkage is alot different than a car, so you have to get creative to make this work. Good Luck

thanks for the pointers - if i do this i was hoping to keep it a low buck pick a part type project - at least with my 66 i already have a cable for the throttle - then there is the side of me that says - im never going to drive this van more than 2-3k a year - i should just find a better 1920 be done with that and spend time on other parts of the van - we will see - oo3
