Post subject:  Dimmer switch tech article??

Hey All,

I remember reading a tech article about fixing the dimmer function on the headlight switch. I checked the article section here on /6.org, and no luck. I can't remember where the heck I found the article !!!

I have to pull my instrument panel to fix other things and would really like to get the dimmer working. If this article rings a bell to anyone I'd really appreciated it!

Thanks,

CE

Replace the switch. If the dash light rheostat is dead or dying, the rest of the switch isn't far behind.

Which brand do you recommend? Standard, Delco?

Holy Cow! It never even occurred to me that a new switch may be available.

I'll be calling napa tomorrow to see what is available.

Standard or Echlin would be a good choice.

Sometimes you just can't buy a new part... so it's good to get some practice when you can.

I found this at O'Reilly for a 63 Valiant for $19.99. Does this look about right for those who have seen them? I haven't pulled mine down yet but it needs replaced.
