Post subject: | Carb kit source |
Searching around for a good carb kit source that I can order from. Read on this site that Walker and Standard Hygrade are the kits to have. Carb is a Holley 1bbl with the number 6594 on it. Kit should be 15519A in Walker (need the float too, 100-86 from what I can see). I've done a bit of a search online and not having too much luck finding a source for one and/or don't know the company supplying so wondering if there are any testimonials about who is good or who to stay away from. Locally looks like Kragen has Niehoff, BWD (thought those brands were connected) and Sorensen listed. Autozone is a very generic listing for a Sorensen and NAPA number shows to be CRB25574 which not sure who makes that kit. So........? Thanks for any help. Cheers |

Just as an FYI, Niehoff, BWD, and Sorenson are under the Standard Motor Product's corporate arm... (Sorenson's a recent acquisition... but I've not had too good luck with their rebuild kits... the one I got for a Holley 2300 wasn't good... paying for the Holley made kit was worth the $$$...) kragen/Schucks should still be able to get you the Standard kit.. if not, try an 'independent' shop... If your carb is a Holley R-6594 (1973 Holley 1920...) Then the Float is an FL93, the kit is 533B good luck, -D.Idiot |

Try O'Reilly Auto, they have the Walker kits. I got one for my 1920, and just recently, my BBD. They usually have them in stock, if not, they can get it within two days (usually). As for the float, I got mine from Daytona Parts Company for about 10 bucks. They also sell kits and can get you some pretty hard to find parts. |
