I want to buy or make a jig for drilling out manifold studs while the head is mounted to the engine.
Any leads, or thoughts on design?

I would make a plate that looks like the manifold gasket except that it shouldn't have port openings. The stud holes should be drilled oversize to accept a hardened drill bushing. I think it should be at least 1/2" thick.

I've got a couple exhaust manifolds so will make a tracing of them and see where they average out.

I was looking for drill bushings for an "F" and was having a time of it finding someplace I could buy just one F, and a bunch of 5/16" bushings. They seem to come in sets of varying sizes.
They would have to be removable types so the "F" bushing could be placed in the needed location. Right now all I have is 1/4 flat stock in an appropriate length. I'll stop off at the steel company here locally and get some 1/2" or thicker flat stock and build it. They may have the drill bushings or availability also.

Do you have a drawing of the stud and port locations? I can compare that to what I find on the manifolds and see how things line up.

Thanks!

The second link worked, the first didn't.

Well, yep. The F drill bushing would work.

Yep. Studs for the manifold to head. Silly me.
I'll just use a gasket to measure things up. I'll eventually get this figured out.

I can double check dimensions on my spare head. Thanks!
