Post subject: | A/C tempurature switch problem? |
Had the all the under dash a/c stuff all put back together then was doing some surfing and found a little booklet about the 73 A/C systems. One of the changes for 73 was the A/C temp switch part #3502582. When I had mine apart I didn't pay much attention to it as it looked like I thought it should and had never been out of the car. Now reading this booklet and revisiting my FSM it states that the capillary tube is supposed to extend six inched into the coil. The booklet said the tube was to be inserted between the fins on the evaporator. Mine was all coiled up at the end and just floated near the back of the housing. Looks like it was like that from the factory. Should I pull it all back apart and stick the tube between the fins or just leave it like it was? Pushed-into-evaporator-between-fins is correct. Coiled at back of housing isn't. |

Thanks again Dan.... Good thing I have a good memory well when I want to....Spent and hour getting that stupid a/c box out uncoiled the wire and stuck it in the fin no problem...then with my surprise the box went in in about 20 min. I must be getting better at this.... Now I can finish the interior and get to work on the last of the engine bay wiring and get that slant back where it belongs. Cheers Brent PS take a look here http://imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/ great info and the video's are pretty cool too I actually learned something from those nice Chrysler engineers |
