I'm having trouble finding some parts. One place said the /6 part was the same as for the LA V8.

Does LA V8 mean the same as Small block V8? Or is "Small block" not a real definition?

Thanks

The LA is the smallblock - Mopars have a small vs big block distinction like Chevies. What part was this you were looking for?

Actually I guess that's a trannies and rears matter - clutch fork for A833 OD. But now I'm not even sure he meant they were the same for 6 & LA8. I know 6 & 8 bell housings are different, but I'm getting nowhere with fork info. Most places with any info are muscle car places and probably don't even know there is such a thing as a Slant 6.

This kind of work is most difficult before you actually start working. Making sure you have the right bits and pieces to work with. I often build a whole notebook full of articles and pictures before I buy a conversion part, then I never look at it again.

All the same, I'm glad to have the internet.

Thanks

All O.D. A-833 clutch forks are the same length, /6 or V-8. The pivot may be different, though.

Saw that article just this afternoon.

I see some forks for ball and stud. My bell housing has a bar it rides on instead. I've seen forks for V-8 engines that obviously require a bar instead of a ball, but I have no way of knowing if it is the same as will fit this one.

Heck, maybe I should try Advance Auto... (Hm, they show the same fork for all Volare engines...)

Thanks

According to Mopars own parts manuals, the A-833OD clutch fork has the same number whether /6 or V-8 in the A/F body.... the one for the B-body looks like it's an old number from the 60's...
