| Post subject: | Question About Camshafts |
Hey guys, thanks for all input on my carb question. I bought a Holley 390 cfm with an elec choke. I have pulled my engine apart and taken the head off and removed the intake and exhaust manifolds. So here is the question. The engine is a 198, I am doing the head over with stainless steel 170/144 valves, I will port and polish the head as well, I also have an offy four barrell manifold and Clifford headers. After getting it apart I thought that was't that hard, lets complete the job and change the camshaft. What would you guys recommend for this setup? Thanks again in advance. Wayne |

What is your target compression ratio, car weight, final drive ratio and vision for the car? Is it a standard?...convertor stall? Premium fuel? |

It is a 1970 Valiant 4 dr three speed standard. I will use it only on the street and not really push it too hard. I just wanted to wake it up a little and get some looks at the car shows. I can stand a fairly lopey idle with the standard trans. Not too sure about the weight of the car it is all stock on the body parts. Thanks |
