I am replacing my negative battery cable on a slant 6 1969 Barracuda.
What location on the block did the factory use to attach the lug end of the battery cable?

My old cable was attached to one of three holes located on the lower front corner of the drivers side of the block and threaded for a 7/16" bolt. However, I thought the cable lug end was for a 3/8" bolt.

That's the correct location, even if you had power steering and the bracket there, you still have the cable attached to one of the top bolts....

is this a "chalk mark" restored car? Because if not you might wanna do what Idid with my 87 B van, that I had bad ground connection problems with; get a longer ground cable and connect the other end to one of the starter bolts. That is your biggest single draw by far.
