Post subject: | HEI install with dual ballast??? |
Ive been reading the how -to on the HEI install, and it says to connect the wires of the ballast resistor together. Will this also work with a dual ballast? I know that one side has different resistance than the other, and didnt know if had to be wired differently. BTW, this is on a '79 B-100. Also I have installed a Blaster 2 coil, and all the recommended tune up parts I've learned about from the gurus on this site. Also, the coil I got came with a ballast resistor, but it's only a single. What would I do in this situation to use the ballast that came with my coil? I have 2 Green wires together on the upper right terminal, a Pink wire on the upper left terminal, and a Red wire on each of the bottom terminals. Any ideas??? |

You'll be fine to just proceed the same way as if you had the single ballast resistor: Unplug both connectors from the dual ballast and connect them to each other. It's just that you'll need two jumper wires rather than one. You can use 1/4" strips of brass or make up jumper wires from short lengths of #14 wire with 1/4" male spade terminals on each end. |
