Post subject:  alum. slant to 4 speed???

I was just informed by somebody that my aluminum short block wont mate with my 4 speed. the car is a 65 cuda with a 4 speed. whats with the crank? Somebody explain if hes right, and what to do if hes right....Thank You

I see no problem with this swap as long as you use the correct flywheel to match the crank hub.
Every bolt hole on the Alm. SL6 matches position on the Cast Iron Slant, where was the area of concern??

I told him this.The guy i got my 68 valiant from told me that the crank is different for a stick than it is for a automatic. he took a slant six out of a 68 valiant stick car, tried to put in with an automatic, but it wouldn't work. said the transmission wouldn't bolt up and that the crank is drilled differently for a stick than it is for an auto. But someone else told me, that there is just a little bushing that's pressed into the crank and it needs to be grinded off in order to use it with an auto.
