I think this was posted elsewhere but this is how my conversion setup is going so far.
Here is a cost breakdown as cheap as I could get for the disc brake conversion (Scarebird).

2 Scarebird brackets- 105.00 +s/h.

2 R1 Concepts drilled and slotted rotors with 4 ceramic pads-package deal (price was comparable to NAPA)- 126.00 +s/h.

2 Brake calipers from local napa- 28.00 (price after core return)

2 Brake hoses- 33.00

Master Cylinder from slantsixorg members (Thanx)- Free/Cheap

Sundries- 25.00

Total minus shipping= 317.00

The real price to be paid is when I start putting it all together.

Just curious, how did the work on the Scarebird setup work out? Thinking about going that way, what with being on something of a budget.
My $300 Valiant is quickly heading north of $2,000 and I got to draw the line somewhere.

I am still waiting on the rotors, so I havn't delved into things quit yet. With the scarebird set up I also forgot to factor in 14" rims ( I have 13" as it sits now) but hopefully here or craigslist for those. New holes for the mounting studs needed in the rotors, I plan on saving a few $ doing that myself.
Here's a picture of the mounting brackets they sent me:

Good looking welds, nice work. Brackets are cleanly cut -looks like a plasma cutter, even a cute little pentastar cut out.

The nuts they welded in place are only welded on one side which I am assuming was done to keep an even plane for the caliper.
