O.k Doc you've got me thinking,

Let's say you build a 4.5 stroker slant w/ overbore and forged pistons. What kind of cam would you run in it? I was thinking of something that would keep the power band a little lower in the RPM range as the stroker probably wouldn't be happy with high revs. That said, grind down the exhaust manifold weld on a 4.0 liter appropriate turbo and pipe it through an intercooler mounted infront of the radiator and replace the stock fan with a couple of junk yard or flex a lite electric fans to keep the beast cool. That said, you could pipe all that cooled air through the dual weber intake and solve the lean 1&6 cylinder problem.

My questions would be what kind of junkyard intercool and turbo combo could I use. Because this is gonna be expensive enough as is. Also what kind of boost would you run?

I was also thinking that a 4.4 liter slant might respond well to dual 2.2 literturbos welded to dutra duals. I think this combo might wind up a little quicker What'd ya think?

All of this is "do-able" but it is a LOT of custom work. If you are not a master metal fabricator who can design and build items needed for this type of project, then do not attempt it. Paying someone to make all the stuff you will need to get a system like this together is simply cost prohibitive.

As for the cam, yes, a mild cam would do fine, say something between 245 and 265º duration and .460 lift, the key will be to keep a wide lobe center like 110 to 112º (this keeps the overlap event short)

Go spend time in the wrecking yards, they are full of turbos these days but intercoolers are another story, those go fast. (Saab & Volvos)

Build the engine first with the "short" cam and 8 to 1 compression. After you have that going, do the turbo(s) are a second phase.
