You probably won't. I've always just tapped into a keyed-on power source and run my own new speaker wires to speakers. I've never known anyone to make plug-in harnesses for older cars. |

The earliest mopar you can get a connector for is an '84. I haven't seen one made for any car earlier than that. It was for the stereo that had the black/brushed aluminum facing, with a digital tuner, instead of analog. ~THOR~ |

maybe I'll just use my investigative powers and try installing the digital radio out of the 92 New Yorker we have... I've installed the radio from a 89 Spirit into a 79 Power Wagon so this should maybe be just a little harder with more speakers to hook up and all... |

That should work fine. Just make sure it isn't an Infinity system. They have a bad habit of going bad. All Chrysler radios up to 2002 will work with just a constant and switched power, and ground. 2002 and up, they start getting real funky with the wiring. Good luck! ~THOR~ |

Yo THOR, I was surprised last year when I sent the Infinity digital stereo / tape deck from the 82 LeBaron to have the push button switches replaced due to lazy return springs. The fellow that performed the repair told me that Alpine produced those sets for Chrysler, and that it was a well built radio for the early eighties. |

Interesting.... although I am not surprised... I don't think that Alpine really had a following yet back in the early 80s... hell Alpine may have just been a daughter company to Infinity, who knows? Thanks for the interesting info! ~THOR~ |

The older style radios have a pigtail coming out the back, until at least 74. I think the "install" kits at WM go back to 74, can't remember who makes them, but they are next to car stereos in the store. |

That would be a new item that I've never seen. The earliest car that I've ever seen in the professional realm was the GM trucks back to '74... of course, that was earlier this year that I stopped paying much attention... so they may have a new one out... it would be awesome if they did! ~THOR~ |

Found what's needed, it can be found at WalMart, I saw it there tonight. I don't know how to do that fancy link thing, but this will get you there. http://www.scosche.com/scosche.caraudio ... odel=ASPEN |

Looks like the same kit they used up until the mid 90s. I know the stereo connectors are the same from at least the early 80's until 2002. Hmmmm. Scosche makes pretty good stuff, it's all ABS plastic, so they hold up pretty well. http://www.scosche.com/scosche.caraudio ... odel=ASPEN If you need any info on how to make it sound really awesome with relatively cheap stuff, lemme know. ~THOR~ |

Don't let WM know that Scosche makes good stuff or they might drop it and look for a Chinnese supplier........ |
