I have a 225 slant six out of a 1966 HD D200 truck which I think has the shot-peened crank. I want to rebuild this motor for the drag strip. I pulled the motor out of the truck with the bell housing and clutch attached, because I couldn't get it off! This is a cast iron housing for the granny 4 speed trans with the starter down by the oil pan. Does anyone know if there is a hidden attachment bolt inside the clutch area on this bell housing? The motor has the same holes and bolts as a car, except for the upper right hand corner of the bell housing when looking at it from the backside. In that area there is a bulge on the bell housing where a car would have a bolt hole. I have hit the bell housing hard enough with a hammer and a pry bar to have loosened it if it were just the centering pins that were stuck. It really seems that there is a bolt holding that is invisible. Any help would be welcome. Jack in Kimball MN

Yes, there are bolts on the inside of that big bellhousing holding it to the SL6. First drop-out the clutch and flywheel, then remove those bolts.
