I plan on tapping the round EGR hole on my Super Six manifold and plugging it with a bolt. But I'd like to use the rectangular port (that leads up to the plenum) as my PCV port. Since it's rectangular, I'd like to JB Weld the rectangular hole and tap it to put in a brass fitting so I can hook that up to the PCV. Any problems with using JB Weld on the intake? I'm not worried so much about it contacting gasoline, as it has plugged a hole in my gas tank for over 2 years now and has yet to leak. But would the heat work against it? |

Seems to me you'd be better off installing the factory EGR blockoff plate p/n 3671 447 from the dealer, and simply drilling and tapping it for a PCV fitting if you want to. |

For what it's worth, J.B. Weld does not recommend it's product for components subjected to exhaust heat levels. Awhile back, I contacted them about what I could mix with it to thin it out and make it pourable. During the discussion, it was mentioned that they have had people use JB Weld on exhaust manifolds, but it's not engineered for those temps. I suggest use at your own risk of failure. Dan's suggestion would be the best, or fabricate a block-off plate with a fitting where you need it. Roger |

Did some searching around... JB Weld doesn't like high heat. I fugured since it was the intake manifold it wouldn't get that hot, but the idea of JB Weld flaking off and floating into the intake valve at high speed...gulp! I think Dan's got the answer. I plan on tapping the round hole and installing a plug, then affix a piece of flat iron where the EGR valve once went and tap a vacuum port into that. No, there's no provision on the carb for EGR. |

I burned JB weld off my exh. manifold in about 30 seconds... It really doesn't like heat. |
