I got bigger than stock rims/tires 14x6s with 195/75R14 tires in the rear, and 205/75R14s in the front. Im going to go bigger in the rear. Where is a place to find a new speedo gear in the trans? My speedo is quite inacurate and jumps around a lot. Also, whats the biggest tire size you recommend for my rims? Thanks! |

Your speedo is inaccurate and jumps around a lot, but you're worried about more inaccuracy with a tire change? Also, whats the biggest tire size you recommend for my rims? Thanks! Regardless, the speed difference with almost any tire you mount on a 6" rim will be negligible. A 215/70 would be about the widest I'd use with that rim. The Tire Rack lists wheel widths for every tire size. www.tirerack.com |

I want my speedo to be accurate again, so I was wondering where I can get another gear. I will get this after I get new tires.

The jumping around of your speedo can be fixed. SSDan did a step by step on how to clean and relube the cable. Search for it or maybe Dan will give you a link. Frank |

If after cleaning and lubing it still does the same thing, you'll probably need a rebuild. Dan recommended Denver Speedo - I've had 2 speedos rebuilt by them. I'm sure he can provide a link to them as well. |

Here's a nice website for comparing tyre sizes. Also has a rim width calculator for any given tyre size. http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp I've used 225 tyres on 6" rims without any problems. Yokohama say you can put their 235/60 tyre on a 6" inch rim, and their overall width is actually 245. This is the tyre I'm talking about, not sure if it's available in the US. http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/tyr ... tyreid=179 |
